I am writing to inform you of the changes that are in process to improve the system for registering new members. I would be grateful if you could forward this email to all clubs within your County Association so that they are aware of the changes.
The County Membership Coordinators (CMCs), formerly County Registrars, in each county will be changing to an electronic process as soon as their current stationery items have been used. Some have just recently changed over and others will be changing over in the coming weeks.
There will be no membership cards any more. The new members will receive a Welcome Letter by email which will have their membership details on it eg. Name and Membership Number. They will also receive an electronic copy of the Laws of the Game, similar to the one that will be available when BCGBA transition to the new website. If the applicant does not have an email address then the membership email will be sent to the club secretary. Once the new website is available we will be looking in the future to introducing digital membership cards that members can keep in the wallet on their phone.
We will also be looking at a fully automated process for new members once the new website is available and club secretaries will be able to register new players themselves. This will be a simple process and receipt of the new membership number will be instantaneous. Full training will be given for this. At all stages the CMC will be available to assist or, if necessary, process the application. Further information will be available and will be sent once we are ready to proceed.
If anyone would like to discuss this further or has any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards
