BCGBA MERIT FINALS
Merseyside have the honour of hosting the British Crown Green Bowling Association (BCGBA) Senior Merit in 2026 as Steve Davies, the Merseyside County Chairman, is President of BCGBA in 2026.
The event is being held on Saturday 25 July 2026 at the Northern Club in Crosby and starts at 10.00am. There will be 64 top male bowlers from all the different counties competing for the title and a place in the Champion of Champions in September 2026.
I would be grateful if you would share the attached poster with all your members. It will be a great day of bowling and we would love to see as many of you as possible at this event.
Merseyside will be hosting a raffle on the day and we would be grateful if any clubs or leagues could donate raffle prizes. If you can donate a prize it can be given to any Merseyside Committee member or directly to the Northern Club. Please accept my sincere thanks in advance for any prizes you can donate. Thay will be greatly appreciated.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
In the County Championship game against Warwick and Worcester, Merseyside were defeated 471 to 383.
Home Leg – 202 – 237. Away Leg 180 – 234.
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
Merseyside play their second County Championship game on Sunday 5th July against Warwick and Worcester. The home leg is at Windle BC, Hard Lane, St. Helens. WA10 6JT The away leg is at King George V B 592 Pershore Road, Birmingham B29 7HQ. The full teams can be seen on the BCGBA Web Site.
COACHING COURSE
A Coach Bowls Level 1 Course is being for Merseyside Clubs this summer. The first two modules are online via Zoom on the evenings of Tuesday 23rd June & Tuesday 7th July, with the Practical Day and Final Assessment being held at Walton Hall Park BC, Liverpool.

On Sunday 7th June 2026 Merseyside open their 2026 County Championship with a game against Greater Manchester. The home leg will be played at Tixalls, Heathfield Road, Prenton CH43 5RT and the away leg at Springhead BC, 136 Oldham Road, Oldham OL4 5 SN.
