Ted Sullivan

Yesterday we received the very sad news of the death of Ted Sullivan. Ted was a member of the excellent Lever Club on the Wirral and he was huge supporter of the game. Ted served was a long serving committee member for the Bebington League, for the Wirral Association Ted held the positions of Secretary, Chairman and President and for the county itself Ted has served on the committee for many years and was President only a few years ago.

If anything needed to be done to help the sport in Merseyside Ted was more than happy to help. Be it helping out at events, refereeing or driving county players to games Ted was there helping to make sure it went as well as it could. On behalf of the association I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to Ted’s family and friends at this very sad time.

BCGBA MEMBERSHIP CARDS
The cost of BCGBA Membership Card has increased to £12, with the cost of a Replacement Card increasing to £4.  The BCGBA Membership Application Form has been updated to reflect these increases and explains why the BCGBA are collecting data in order to comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  Please don’t forget that the form must be signed and dated by the applicant before it is sent to our County Registrar, Linda Howard.  Unfortunately, failure to do this will result in the application form being rejected and returned to the applicant, thus causing a delay in the processing of membership numbers. Your co-operation in this matter will be appreciated.

2019 BCGBA LADIES PRESIDENT LYNSEY GORMAN
Lynsey Gorman followed in her mother’s footsteps when she was elected as the 2019 BCGBA Ladies President, making her the youngest lady to take up the role. Her mother, Pat Crowther, held the presidency in 1999 and they become the first mother and daughter to both hold high office. Lynsey began her role at the ladies Annual Dinner held last December. Despite having a full-time job as Cancer Manager at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Lynsey still manages to play regularly for her club, New Brighton Quarry Vikings, in Wirral Bowling leagues and she is a regular in the Wallasey Association Federation side. She is also a regular in the Merseyside Ladies county team and has been since the age of 14. This season should see her make her 100th county appearance. One of the many highlights of her career saw her win the BCG Ladies Champion of Champions in 2017.
