Saturday 16th May

Kevin Kearns won the Merseyside merit. Kevin is pictured here with the Bill Nugent Trophy.

This is the programme from the finals day of the Merseyside merit. Our thanks to Prescot Manor who were extremely good hosts.

Monday 11th May

Merseyside junior team lost to a very impressive Warwick & Worcs junior side yesterday. Merseyside have been struggling for a few seasons to get a competitive side and I put this on the board to thank the volunteers for their hard work. Most of our side are very inexperienced and the day would have been valuable to their development. We are lucky to be able to run a Saturday coaching sessions at a few venues where people who care about the future of the game give up their spare time to coach beginners.

My thanks also to Oxton Conservatives for being splendid hosts even though access to the venue was severely restricted by a local event which closed the roads around the venue.

It was the "Secret Gardens of Oxton" day where residents throw open their garden gates to allow the general public to nose into their flora and fauna.

Good luck to W&W for the rest of the season.
