The 2009 British Senior Merit held at the Northern Club in Crosby. You may be aware of a 10 minute rule bill in the House of Commons by Rt Hon John Woodcock MP for Barrow and Furness. He seeks to protect bowling greens from redevelopment and introduce a 'community right to buy' scheme which will enable bowling clubs to form a co-operative to buy the green so that they remain a valuable part of the community. Please contact your own MP to ask them to support this bill. The bill will receive its second reading in March 2012. On Wednesday 13th July a group from John's constituncy will travel to London to lobby Members of Parliament to support the bill.Further details can be found by clicking the link below. http://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/bowling-green-campaign-to-be-taken-to-westminster-1.855949?referrerPath=news This draw is for the next 5 year cycle of the county matches to run unsurprisingly for 5 years starting next year.
